Major League Fishing is in Colchester, Vermont, to film the 2019 Challenge Select as the league continues the eighth season of filming. The anglers will be in town until July 22, 2018.
Major League Fishing features 52 of the top anglers in the country and includes Bassmaster Classic champions, Angler of the Year winners and title-holders from both the Bassmaster Elite Series and the FLW Tour. Twenty-four anglers will compete across the Malletts Bay area of Lake Champlain in six days of competition, all seeking to make it to the final day's Championship Round. The show captures the anglers' efforts as they seek to catch as many fish as possible in seven and a half hours of fishing and weigh all "scorable bass" before immediately releasing the fish back into the water.

The events filmed in Vermont will begin airing in March 2019 on Outdoor Channel, America's leader in outdoor television. This is Major League Fishing's first time in its five-year history to fish in Vermont.

"The Vermont Convention Bureau and the Town of Colchester as premier sponsors are very pleased to bring this event to Vermont". Susan Smith, Vice-President of Visitor Services, said. "Malletts Bay and Lake Champlain are one of our prized resources and will provide the anglers with a world class fishing experience. Our sponsors, the Town of Colchester, The Hampton Inn, Colchester Community Development Corporation, Westport Hospitality, DoubleTree by Hilton, Trader Dukes, Vermont Department of Tourism and Marketing, and Vermont Fish and Wildlife have come together to make this event possible and feature Vermont as a premiere fishing destination."

Major League Fishing Select anglers competing in Vermont are Scott Ashmore, Cody Meyer, Scott Suggs, James Watson, Matt Lee, Jordan Lee, Chris Lane, Russ Lane, Randy Howell, Jason Lambert, Justin Lucas, JT Kenney, Fletcher Shryock, Zack Birge, Brandon Coulter, Wesley Strader, Michael Neal, Dave Lefebre, Mark Rose, Gary Clouse, Fred Roumbanis, Marty Robinson, Brandon Palaniuk and Todd Faircloth.

"We're very excited for our anglers to fish this area because of the diversity of the lake and the challenges they will face," Randy White, MLF executive producer, said. "The lake is great and widely recognized as some of the best smallmouth fisheries in the country, so it was a natural choice to bring our anglers to the Colchester area."

About Major League Fishing: Developed through a joint effort between Outdoor Channel and two dozen premier bass fishing anglers in 2011, Major League Fishing brings the high-intensity sport of competitive bass fishing into America's living rooms in the form of riveting two-hour TV episodes. Twenty-four world-class anglers are filmed over the course of a six-day event. The show captures their efforts as they utilize a demanding format that allows them to weigh all the "scorable bass" they catch. Unlike other competitive fishing events, live leaderboards in the boats allow anglers to know their standings at all times.
